New Years In Vienna!

Image
Like most everyone else in the blogger world, I am going to write a post about my New Years and all of that good stuff! I will just say it now, New Years in Vienna is something everyone should have on their bucket lists. New Years in Times Square seems to be the place to be for New Years for any American but the idea of having to stand for 6 hours to watch a ball drop seems to extreme for me. Even though Florida is a great place to live New Years is not a big hoopla like it is here. My family has no real New Years traditions other than sitting in front of the T.V. and watching the ball drop and afterwards going to bed. Exciting I know. There is quite a build-up to New Years in Vienna, buying fireworks, stands all over the city selling luck charms which can be strange to any onlooker. Stands that look similar to Christmas markets sell Pig charms to big stuffed pig toys, mushroom, four leafed clovers and chimney sweeper figures in all different sizes. Having any one of the named item...

Tranquil Tuesday

Today I didn't do so much just had a nice day with my boyfriend again enjoying the beautiful weather we have been having lately. Just another day in the Prater riding bikes and playing ping pong. Tommorrow will go to the University and re-enroll and hopefully it is as easy as everyone says it will be. So I am NOT at all looking foward to waiting forever in line to register again. So today is a quick and short post since nothing really I want to talk about today. So now it is just going to be surfing the web, listening to my music, eating strawberries, take a shower, read my book and get cozy with the boy whom I love. Hope you all have had a good and tranquil Tuesday.                                     2 more days and I will finally go to my first Iron and Wine Concert! So excited for it and also excited fo...

Freizeit.

I love free time to do nothing with my boyfriend.  He is in an art school here in Vienna that is quite intense and this past semester we barely hadn't had a lot of time for each other. Which was a bit aggrivating when all I have to do is go to one class in the afternoon for 3 hours and learn German. Okay, that is not fair to me I had to decorate, clean and buy groceries but I think my point is quite clear. However, the past two days it has just been a lot of time together watching T.V. and sleeping in like winter bears. Since we are starting to resemble them as well. :) OH SHIT! I just realized today is the first and I have not done the bank transfer to pay for my rent for this month. Okay tomorrow in the morning I go back to my apartment and first thing I need to do is pay the rent. Goodness, that is the hard thing when you live in your main apartment part time, I guess this should be my lesson for having copies of atleast the banking and lease over here as well so this will n...

Biting Your Tail

May your hands be strong and willing. May you know when to speak and to listen. May you find every friend that you're missing. May your tongue be soft and wicked. May your words be worth stealing. May you lose what offer gladly. May you worship the time and it's passing. Stars won't ever wait for you to watch them fall. May your eyes be wide and seeing. May your learn from the view you're kneeing. Know the fear of the world that you feel is the fear of a slave. These are pieces out of order from the song ''Biting Your Tail'' by Iron and Wine.  That are quite relivant to my life at the moment. Especially the first paragraph in this blog. Lately I feel like I have done so much listening over the past month or so I now want someone to listen to me and I find myself talking and complaining a lot and not really listening. Having selfish moments that I feel like I deserve. Even though that sounds just terriable. Coming from Sunny South Flor...

Freedom Hangs Like Heaven.

So the other day I found out that Iron and Wine are coming here in Vienna . I was super excited to hear that I can finally get to go and see Sam Beam . I am hopeing and looking foward to hearing and seeing him live, one of his newer songs ''Biting Your Tail '' the lyrics of this song inspire me . I have been a fan of Iron and Wine for atleast 5 years now and for about 4 years I have been really wanting to go to a concert of his and now it is finally going to happen ! I bought my ticket this afternoon ! Now the marathon of listening to Iron and Wine begins ! Since I hear the venue is small maybe I can get close and maybe get a meet and greet session ......just throwing out a really lovely thought .
